According to me, Shadowplay is the best screen recorder, of course, when it is working. For some reason, it always breaks down. The most common error, "In game overlay not working, try restarting the system" is the most annoying one. It usually occurs as a result of antivirus software deleting one of its files. So sometimes, even when you re-install it, it will still not work. But there is a quickfix that will always make it work.
1. First you have to uninstall the Nvidia GeForce software with the help of a dedicated uninstaller. That will make sure that nothing related to NVIDIA is left behind. I used Revo uninstaller.
2. Then exclude the folders in which Nvidia Geforce is supposed to be installed. In my computer it is folder (program files & program filesx86)). Also add the same folders in exclusion list of windows defender, which is actually main culprit.
3. Download the latest edition of Geforce experience - GeForce Experience: Game Optimizer & Screen Recorder | NVIDIA
4.Install and run.
5. If it fails to run. Stop your antivirus and try to run it again.
